Today, we are celebrating Arbor Day and we decided to make a gesture in favor of our environment.
National Tree Day, or Arbor Day, is the name of a celebration where people are invited to plant or maintain trees. The celebration was initiated by J. Sterling Morton, Secretary of Agriculture of the United States and Robert Furnas who decided to plant trees on April 10, 1872 in Nebraska City.
This festival, which generally celebrates the arrival of spring and nature, is honored in several countries. It is also the opportunity for the public authorities to sensitize the population by inviting them to plant a tree in order to limit the effects of desertification.
To participate, we decided to buy 100 trees on Team Trees.
The Team Trees campaign, created in collaboration with Arbord Day Foundation and initiated by famous YouTuber MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson), has attracted a lot of attention.
He used his notoriety to raise awareness about climate change. In October 2019, with the request of his subscribers, he created the Team Trees platform, in collaboration with the NGO Arbor Day, on which anyone can make a donation. For every dollar received, MrBeast pledged to plant a tree.
Several celebrities have contributed to the project. In particular Elon Musk by planting 1,000,000 trees, Jack Dorsey, Alan Walker, Tobias Lütke or Jeffrey Star.
Trees are planted in the North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia.
For us, it is important to take care of the environment in order to protect our future generation. This is why we will celebrate this holiday every year and we will increase the number of trees over the years.
Construction companies being polluting and emitting a lot of CO2 (on average, the construction of one m² of new building represents the emissions of 1,500 kg of CO2) it was important for us to contribute to the planting of new trees in order to reduce our gas emissions.
